In today’s fast-paced world, education is changing rapidly, and traditional methods of learning are no longer enough to keep up. This is where 42, a unique educational institution, comes into play. At 42, students learn from each other in a peer-to-peer methodology where there are no teachers, and self-paced learning is the norm.
I passed the piscine to start my journey at 42 in March 2021, but I could only begin my studies there last October. As a full-stack and blockchain developer, I came into 42 with a certain set of skills and knowledge. However, I quickly realized that I was in for a challenge, as I had never thought about memory leaks and other similar errors. Despite these challenges, I am grateful for the chance to learn and grow, and not only work on my hard skills, but also soft skills such as communication or team work.

At 42, I have found a community of driven and passionate students who I get to study with. The peer-to-peer learning approach allows us to collaborate and build off of each other’s strengths and weaknesses. The lack of teachers may seem daunting at first, but I have found that it fosters an environment of self-discovery and problem-solving. The opportunities available at 42, such as building a strong network, making startup ideas come to life or connecting with powerful companies are unmatched.
In conclusion, my experience at 42 so far has been challenging, but it has also been extremely rewarding. I am growing as a technical professional and as a person. The unique learning environment is allowing me to develop valuable problem-solving abilities and has opened doors to opportunities I never thought possible. I am happy to study with other amazing and driven students, and I am excited to see what the future holds.
